Senior Partner Marketing Programs Manager (6443) at Avalara

The Senior Partner Marketing Programs Manager will be responsible for developing scale go-to-market partner programs for our technology and referral partners to drive leads and monetize partnerships. This position will drive planning, operationalizing, measurement, and communication of partner marketing programs that grow partner engagement and accelerate channel sales. In this role, you will leverage corporate marketing program content as well as create new partner-ready content to build integrated campaigns to nurture partner leads and develop scalable partner marketing best practices.

Reports to the Senior Manager, Partner Marketing and will work closely with Partner Marketing Managers, Strategic Alliance Managers, Partner Experience, Sales, Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, Business Development, and other internal teams as well as partners, as needed.

Planning

  • Create and manage scale go-to-market partner marketing programs including 1) to-partner communications, enablement, and incentives; and 2) through-partner integrated scale programs
  • Develop scalable content and program plans for partner marketing and sales teams
  • Strategize with partners to gain insight on best-in-class marketing activities that motivate and engage partners and partners’ customers
  • Work with internal teams to identify tools and marketing program needs; identify key marketing issues as they relate to business objectives and develop marketing and sales enablement initiatives that drive toward those business objectives
  • Engage as an active partner marketing liaison on various marketing teams for partner content needs and perspective

Execution

  • Create powerful campaigns, communications, and partner marketing and sales enablement programs based on market research and in-depth knowledge of internal and external operating environments
  • Leverage advanced knowledge of multi-channel, integrated marketing campaign development and strategies for capturing the right audience with the right message at the right time
  • Design and implement segmented partner and partner contact targeted nurture programs
  • Effectively nurture and automate partner contact engagement and marketing programs for the long-tail of partners
  • Design, implement, and maintain a partner incentive program
  • Design, implement, and maintain partner direct mail programs
  • Manage and maintain to-partner marketing programs and communications
  • Ensure partner marketing strategy aligns with corporate brand strategies and goals to maximize marketplace impact and drive efficiencies
  • Work with Product Marketing to ensure new and existing products or services are integrated appropriately into partner marketing strategy
  • Create partner-ready enablement assets
  • Drive the communication and set milestones of programs, including training and support on programs to internal and external contacts

Set program goals, analyze results, and share feedback with the key stakeholders on the partner leadership team regularly on program ROI

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or other related field; with experience in partner marketing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationship/team-building and account management skills
  • Leadership qualities that reflect a self-motivated individual with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Creative mind that can develop compelling marketing content
  • Flawless execution on plans with excellent follow-through and accountability
  • Strong analytical skills to track and measure activities to report on effectiveness
  • Ability to adopt quickly to a fast-paced environment and prioritize more urgent tasks
  • Presentation experience and skills that help engage an audience

Experience

  • 5+ years of marketing experience in a high-tech industry with extensive success with software publishers and their reselling channels
  • Software sales and marketing experience, including ERP, ecommerce, CRM, and SaaS/cloud computing business applications
  • Experience using Salesforce.com, Tableau, or other CRM and reporting platforms preferred
  • Experience using Eloqua or other marketing automation platforms preferred
  • Knowledge in creative content design and tools
