We are seeking a Senior Product Specialist to join our team and help us design and enhance the Zipnosis platform for the next generation of virtual care. In this role, you will lead our Product Management function by gathering information about customers' virtual care plans and challenges, collaborating on a vision for how we can solve those challenges, and presenting proposed projects to the business as part of developing our product roadmap. During project execution, you will be the voice of the customer and the business for our Engineering team. After features are completed, you will also work with the Sales, Support, and Customer Success teams to ensure successful implementation by new and existing customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Understanding Customer Challenges:
Lead requirements discovery sessions between partners, customers, and other business units.
Make connections between requests and feedback from all our customers to inform what projects we should prioritize.
Be a resource on competitors. Know which features we need to keep us in the game and which set us apart.
Creating and Proposing Solutions:
Create executive summary and scoping documents for projects, updating as new information is available.
Present scope, cost, and opportunity information at regular company roadmap prioritization meetings.
Manage communication to stakeholders about project status, scope, and changes.
Provide input on design and acceptance criteria to Engineering during feature planning. Review completed features to ensure they meet business needs.
Communicating Platform Capabilities:
Be the go-to person for information on platform capabilities, particularly new features. Help our implementation teams use these capabilities to solve new virtual care challenges through advice, training, and documentation.
Work with marketing to help our Sales and Customer Success teams communicate new features to customers.
Help Operations and Support teams understand how new features work and how they can help the users of those features.
Write and communicate bi-weekly release notes for internal awareness.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience with and/or have demonstrated all of the following:
Great at listening, asking probing questions, and summarizing what customers are saying into actionable problem statements and feature definitions.
Comfortable in a fast-moving, dynamic startup environment.
Able to work independently and without a lot of top-down direction.
Ability to learn and communicate about feature-rich, highly configurable software systems.
Prior work with a Software-as-a-Service company.
Knowledge of the unique challenges of the healthcare market and an interest in improving care experience for both patients and providers.
Knowledgeable about the software development lifecycle. Awareness of Agile software development concepts and Scrum process would be a plus..
5+ years of experience in a product role with a consumer-facing software company.
Excellent spoken and written communication.
Experience with task-tracking software, preferably Jira.
Can define clear and concise requirements to guide architects and engineers.
Able to produce workflow diagrams and familiar with the tools to do so.
Proficient task and project manager.
Experience with healthcare policies and regulations such as HIPAA and the HITECH act.
Experience with software products in healthcare such as electronic medical records or medical device software.
Experience with data analysis and visualization techniques and tools.
Knowledge of current design practices in web software.
General knowledge of how web applications work.
Scrum Product Owner experience.
