Lead Accountant at Protenus
Baltimore, MD, US
Protenus, a healthcare compliance analytics company based in Baltimore, is seeking a Lead Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Lead Accountant will play an integral role in building out the accounting function at Protenus.

Responsibilities

    • Assist with financial audit preparation and responses including annual external audit, bank audits, and other audits as required
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing, including preparing and entering journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts
    • Preparation and review of standard financial reports (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
    • Preparation of supporting schedules to financials
    • Participate in streamlining and process improvement projects, enhancing the internal controls over accounting systems, processes, metrics, and reporting
    • Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting, analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned

Key Qualifications, Skills, or Competencies

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
    • CPA preferred or working towards your CPA
    • At least 2-3 years of accounting experience
    • Thorough knowledge of GAAP
    • Knowledge of Quickbooks preferred but not required
    • Excellent time and self-management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines
    • Strong spreadsheet skills
    • Effective collaborator who is comfortable working within teams and individually
